New Year, Old Problems?
New Year, new beginning. Or is it? Every year we go into the new year thinking that we are starting with a clean slate and a new beginning and in some ways this is true. It is easier to start new habits on dates that have meaning to us but how can we start with a clean slate when we carry our past selves into the new year with us? It is time to say good bye to who you use to be and take the first step to becoming the person you want to be.

Remember why we are here.
This is a new beginning to a new year and also the beginning of this new blog. However, when a new beginning is on the horizon, it is important to take a moment to focus on where you are now and how you got here. This helps create a new, clearer roadmap to where you want to go. This is what I am doing now. I am going to take a moment to review where I am and why I got to this place so that I can build a route forward.

You define you, not anyone else
Each of us has our own challenges and our own unique circumstances. We are the only ones who know who we are. We are the only ones who know who we want to be. Because if this, it is important to remember that we are the only ones who can decide what life will make us proud of ourselves. What is it that you want in your life? What type of person would you be proud to be?

Be your own valentine
With valentine’s day just passing I wanted to take a minute to celebrate you. Through the years, valentine’s day has been a time to celebrate love and relationships. The last decade brought about a change in that and many places started hosting singles days and “galentines” event. These are a great support for people who do not have a significant other but what if you do have someone at home and they just don’t value you? What is there for you then?
